چکیده

Honey powder is being increasingly used in food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry, because it avoids inconveniences of raw honey, such as high viscosity, stickiness formation sugar crystals. It paramount importance to know if honey powders keep the features honeys. This first study, which total phenolics, flavonoids, biological properties ling-heather (Calluna vulgaris (L.) Hull) obtained by different drying methods (spray drying, vacuum freeze drying), using carriers (Arabic gum, whey protein isolate maltodextrin) were assessed. Results showed that all procedures retained phenolics powders. powders' antioxidant activities against free radicals (ABTS•+, ROO•, •OH O2•-) higher than those honeys, while powders’ anti-inflammatory antimicrobial several microorganisms (Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria monocytogenes Escherichia coli) lower. Concentration type carrier for dehydration key factors quality However, procedure did not strongly influence parameters studied.

Antimicrobial, Antioxidant, Anti-Inflammatory and Cytotoxic Activities of Garcinia Eugenifolia and Calophyllum Enervosum

Chemical investigation of Garcinia eugenifolia and Calophyllum enervosum yielded six compounds. One of these was found to be a novel compound identified as enervosanone. Five known compounds cambogin, epicatechin, osajaxanthone, rubraxanthone and isocowanol, were also isolated. These compounds were tested for their bioactivity as antimicrobial, antioxidant and cytotoxicagents. Antimicrobial...

Antioxidant and Anti-Inflammatory Activities of Barettin

In this paper, we present novel bioactivity for barettin isolated from the marine sponge Geodia barretti. We found that barettin showed strong antioxidant activity in biochemical assays as well as in a lipid peroxidation cell assay. A de-brominated synthetic analogue of barettin did not show the same activity in the antioxidant cell assay, indicating that bromine is important for cellular activ...

evaluation of antioxidant activities of mentha piperita essential oils obtained by different extraction methods

as traditional extraction methods like hydrodistillation (hd) and steamdistillation (sd) have long extraction times, some novel extraction methods like microwave-assisted hydrodistillation (mahd) and ohmic-assisted hydrodistillation (oahd) are recently introduced. in this study, essential oils of mentha piperita were extracted by oahd and mahd and the results were compared with those of the sd ...

Antioxidant, anti-acetylcholinesterase, anti-inflammatory and DNA protection activities of Glaucium grandiflorum var. grandiflorum.

In this study, the antioxidant, antiacetylcholinesterase, anti-inflammatory, and DNA protecting activities of the aerial parts of Glaucium grandiflorum var. grandiflorum were evaluated. It was found that the lyophilized methanolic extract exhibited an inhibitory capacity against FeCl3/ascorbic acid induced posphatidylcholine liposome oxidation (EC50 = 2.62  0.08 mg/mL), quenched HOCl (5.87  0...
